Convertible wood and metal folding metamorphic unit designed to function as both a five-plank tabletop and a five-tier standing shelving unit. The construction integrates five stained wood planks mounted to a dark-painted iron or steel folding scissor-hinge frame with diagonal wire supports. The base includes stained wood trestle legs with splayed feet stabilized by a metal tension rod. A rectangular brass plaque pinned to the wooden frame reads "PAT. APRIL 13, 1897".
